Cary Twomey, B.F.A., D. Ayv., has received certification in the Pilates Method, Yoga and the Wise Earth Tradition of Ayurveda. She has been teaching for nearly twenty years and has a diverse spectrum of experience in her field.

Cary received a B.F.A in Dance Performance and Choreography and has an extensive Anatomical, Therapeutic Movement and Psychotherapy back round. Due to her long time personal practice and study of eastern philosophies and western psychology, Cary’s teaching and counseling style has been a gradual integration of both eastern and western approaches. Her counseling has roots in Jungian Psychoanalysis due to her extensive personal apprenticeship with Jungian Analyst and Pilates Elder Mary Bowen. Cary’s personal commitment and journey with her own eastern spiritual practice, has deeply influenced her counseling, giving it a more Contemplative Psychological and Spiritual approach. Her experience with Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Psychology is also a primary ingredient. Cary’s holistic medical modality is based in Ayurveda.

Due to her personal journey with movement and the body, Cary’s work is centered on the integration of the physical with the psycho-spiritual. She spent a decade in NYC dancing professionally, running her own Pilates/Movement Studio as well as working as a Pilates Therapist in a Physical Therapy setting. She was on the founding faculty for the Joffrey Ballet BFA program at the New School University in NYC, helping to create and inspire a new curriculum for professional dancers to pursue their art form as well as earn their degree with professional training. She has taught Kinesiology, Anatomy, Dance Injury Prevention, Modern Dance, Ballet and Yoga at the Universities of Nebraska, Lincoln and The New School in NYC. Cary received her primary training in Ayurveda from Swamini Mayatitananda and continues to study with others in the field. She has traveled abroad to teach Dance, Pilates, Movement, Yoga and Ayurveda.

Cary offers her clients nutritional, herbal, psychological and physical support. A primary piece of what Cary offers is her mentoring in Eastern Spiritual Practice for our western modern times. Through her own experience as a long time practitioner she combines the psychological journey with an authentic spiritual path of practice. She offers guidance or mentoring in eastern spiritual practice for those who have desire to deepen on their path.

Lee Willet, B.F.A., has earned certification in the Pilates Method, Yoga and Ayurveda. He has been practicing and studying along side his wife Cary for the last 15 years and began teaching Haymarket Studio when they opened in 2002.

Lee has a strong background in Theatre Arts which began in high school and followed with a B.F.A. in Theater Arts & Performance. While at the University, Lee gave particular attention to Theater Movement and Stage Combat which provided him with a disciplined training in movement and a refined precision with the body. Lee was recognized for his particular strengths in this art form and has been called upon since for his expertise in Teaching and Choreographing movement for stage. Following graduation he went on to work as an actor in New York City appearing in commercials, plays, T.V. and films. There he worked creatively with a group of fellow actors writing, directing and producing original and existing works. He also choreographed and set stage combat for off-Broadway shows.

Lee's work in the Acting and Theater profession and his affinity for movement allowed a seamless transition into the world of bodywork and movement. Partnering alongside his wife Cary for nearly two decades has exposed him continuously to movement, healing arts and the spiritual life. He has a natural intuition to support others in their process and is often called upon to work specifically with dancers due to his deep understanding of their needs. Lee supports the UNL Dance Program when called upon to teach Pilates and Yoga to the students enrolled in their degree program.

At the studio, Lee teaches Pilates and Yoga with a strong anatomical base and introduces people to Meditation practice. He can evaluate physical issues and provide a therapeutic movement program. He has seen many of his students through injuries, illnesses, pregnancy and particular fitness goals. Lee's classes are challenging, strengthening and grounding. He provides a stabilizing presence and is able to offer a well rounded support due to his understanding of Ayurveda.
